The Streaming Giant Selects Spot-On Performer for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Third Season

Baroque Works is poised to play a huge role in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, though the real showdown won’t unfold until the third season, and a cherished, popular member has now been chosen.

The platform declared recently that the talented performer will appear in the One Piece cast for the third season and will play Mr. 2. The role has the ability to morph into an perfect replica of anyone they’ve touched with their main hand. The actor, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will play a rendition of that character re-envisioned as non-binary, rather than as a drag artist, in the live-action series, unlike the original manga and anime.

Escola is joined by multiple recently announced actors who will portray the group to reality, featuring head Mr. 0, brought to life by the seasoned performer, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who also joins the cast as the monarch of the desert kingdom.

Although this character is a key figure of the organization, the character won’t appear until One Piece season 3. Given the next season expected to adapt the Little Garden arc, this represents a major departure in the timing of the character’s debut, one that could suggest additional alterations to the narrative framework.

Escola’s blend of sharp comedic timing and deep sensitivity makes them a standout choice for the character. In addition to their latest vocal work in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and several accolades for penning and acting in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, highlighting the adaptability they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s highly regarded characters.

The streaming service’s real-life One Piece show is scheduled to come back for its next installment on the tenth of March, 2026.
