The former UK leader, began the first edition of her YouTube show with a vow to reveal "the evil-doers" striving to weaken Britain, the US and Europe. She stated she would lay bare how an "international network of liberal activists work to undermine democracy and the electorate's mandate."

"We will examine the political movement of Donald Trump and see how this can be achieved in Britain," Truss declared. "We'll be talking to the leading lights of the Maga movement."

Prior to the program's debut, there was one particularly enthusiastic supporter. "This is the beginning of a type of political shift," said the controversial US journalist. His media outlet Just the News will publish the Truss's new podcasts.

Establishing Ties in the Maga-Verse

Compatriot supporters, including a pro-Reform adviser, played a role in her launch the Liz Truss Show. The setup is professional, if basic. She has gathered a subscriber base of 10k in her initial seven days and her debut had 67,000 views in that timeframe.

This represents a humble beginning, but in partnering with John Solomon, she is being entering a mature right-wing media network generating and disseminating Make America Great Again themes. Its obsessions encompass alleged censorship by the mainstream media and a desire to dismantle a conspiratorial 'deep state' – which she attributes her downfall to for the rapid conclusion of her calamitous premiership.

"The platform is not famous outside of the Maga world, but it does have credibility there, largely because of its founder, who offers opinions on Maga platforms like the program hosted by Steve Bannon and has even questioned Trump," noted an anthropology expert, who has analyzed the Trumpist political wave.

A Contentious Ally

The former PM's foray to bring Maga media to the United Kingdom has drawn her nearer to controversial figures such as Solomon.

He established the platform in the wake of scrutiny after he was accused of promoting false stories about the President's actions in the Eastern European nation, as well as contentious articles about one-time diplomat to Ukraine.

These allegations were echoed across the conservative press, with he appearing as a regular guest on Sean Hannity's influential Fox News show. Trump himself endorsed the journalist's work.

He wrote the Ukraine claims in a set of articles for the outlet the political newspaper, where he was moved to a columnist role when staffers raised concerns about his work. These reports were central in the then-president's request for the Ukrainians to investigate Hunter Biden and his father in 2019. Those demands led to articles of impeachment against the president. Senators later voted to acquit the president.

Not long after Solomon left the newspaper in autumn 2019, the outlet announced it was carrying out a examination of his reporting concerning Ukraine. It determined Solomon had used questionable informants and said he "did not disclose key facts about key Ukrainian sources, specifically the reality that they had been indicted or were under investigation."

Joining the Network

His TV and radio guest spots are a example of the political media environment Truss is becoming part of. Solomon mentioned his support for the program on a show he co-hosts on the right-wing channel, a rightwing cable channel that is where you find the pro-Trump commentator Steve Bannon and on which Tucker Carlson also appears. Truss has already spoken with Bannon on a debut installment.

Through her association with Solomon and Just the News, Truss has become a minor player in a much wider network of conservative media outlets that routinely cross-promote stories.

The journalist's broadcasts have repeatedly hosted figures such as commentator Mike Benz, a rightwing influencer whose arguments against the US Agency for International Development was referenced by the X owner as justification for closing the government body.

A Global Media Play

Even though her awkward delivery and professional woes have been mocked in Britain, some US observers are not discounting her bid to rebrand as a local version of the Maga media.

"You have to take individuals such as her as significant, despite the fact that you may not want to take them literally," said a Democratic strategist, who served in the Biden administration.

"You saw how in the last election cycle Donald Trump leveraged that alternative press to get his message out. Certainly that sphere exports and influences discourse overseas. It appears relatively clear to me that the circumstances in the United Kingdom are similar to what enabled this non-mainstream media network to prosper in the US."

Alan Finlayson, said the internet-based conservative network was already exerting influence in the UK.

"Online platforms transcends national boundaries," he said. "There exists a sort of milieu within which content circulates – on occasion taking an extreme form and other times more moderately – but which is interlinked."

Hinton said the growth of the online right in the UK recently meant the "potential to have a growing impact is significant."
