New Details Surface About the Location of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Remains

Fresh particulars have surfaced regarding the untimely demises of acclaimed director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were located at their residence home on Sunday.

The Discovery

A source indicates referencing a family associate, a therapist arriving for an appointment initially became concerned after being unable to gain access the residence. This individual then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.

When she went into the residence, Romy found her father's body. It is said she then fled the house in anguish, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Her roommate who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Afterward, emergency responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Proceedings

Authorities have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, along with the alleged use of a deadly weapon, said to be a knife. He is now detained without bail.

Correcting the Record

The anonymous source challenged several previously reported details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the grounds, she did not identify him as a suspect at that time.

Furthermore pushed back against published suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "worried" about Nick's behavior in the preceding period. Rather the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement includes reports of reportedly "unstable" behavior by Nick at a gathering thrown by Conan O'Brien on the night before the tragedy. While the source said they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they maintained that suggestions of a "major confrontation" between the two were inaccurate.

Ongoing Inquiry Timeline

According to law enforcement sources, the coroner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts noted the condition of their bodies suggested they had been deceased for a number of hours.

Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, roughly 15 miles from the residence. He was due to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had a medical issue and would be unable to attend until no sooner than Wednesday.
