Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and ongoing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with notable success and destroyed a number of missiles," it added.

Officials reported wreckage fell on a populated district in the capital, causing some structural damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
