Former Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Involving 38 Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor stands accused of carrying out sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients.
Details of the Serious Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

The charging documents said the 45 charges he is charged with:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
