Indeed, if not for wastefulness in front of goal they might have been greater than 1-0 up. “The performance had merit other than the fact that we didn't take our chances,” he said. “I acknowledge that we lost, but it's important to stay balanced.

“The performance we had at stages was exceptionally high. This is the reality. I wouldn't speak so positively if it was different. But that’s why, when it comes to wins, I mentioned we've seen this before. For that reason I believe a change is coming to things turning around. Currently: the fine margins.”

“We produced a lot of encouraging signs that we did, like today again. The issue now comes down to performing for 90 minutes. My narrative would be different if I didn't believe it. Therefore I am convinced the team can to turn things around.”

Opposition Reaction Response

The victorious boss played down talk of a serious challenge in spite of what seemed like a statement victory. “Step by step, so we can develop something here,” he said. “The belief in the team is immense.”
