Beloved Performer Pat Finn, Known For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at Age 60.
American performer Finn, who was seen in beloved TV shows including Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed at 60 years old.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles recently after undergoing treatment for cancer since 2022, as reported by media reports.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones stated in a announcement.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of well-known programs, including:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits include It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat guided, supported, and advised countless students over the years and it would be difficult to find someone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, peer actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted online.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
